6️⃣ basic marketing tips you won't hate!

When you're running a small business, having a strong marketing strategy in place (or at least SOME kind of a little somethin' related to some sort of strategy thingy 🤦‍♀️) is pretty important!

Don’t forget: consumers learn about local businesses online more than anywhere else.

So it's important to get your brand out there — and I do NOT mean “one and done”! The truth is, people need to see your offer / sale / message multiple times before taking action. Try your best to build up those impressions.

Creating a marketing plan might sound confusing, but I'm here to share a couple tips to get you started… I'm talking basic, so don't freak out.

1. Know your ideal clients! Who are you trying to reach and what do they care about?

2. Differentiate between yourself and others. Why should people be buying from or hiring you in particular?

3. Consider using promotional tools & lead magnets. What type of value can you give your potential clients for free?

⬇ ⬇ ⬇ ⬇ ⬇ ⬇

4. Make sure you're promoting yourself on your platforms! Your audience wants to get to know *you*, the REAL you… and then they'll care about what you have to offer. Share what makes your offer/service special and unique — but don't forget to include stuff about what makes YOU special and unique. Do you know how many people know that I'm a nacho enthusiast?! It's kinda embarrassing at this point.

5. If you aren't a marketing specialist, that's okay! But don't be afraid to seek out experts for advice and strategy ideas. Also, hi.

6. Outsourcing is a great option for those of us who might have a lot of balls in the air and feel ready to get some extra help. For example, my virtual assistant, Kaitlyn, drafted this email for me and I am editing it right now in this moment and typing this very sentence after the fact. Kaitlyn is a lifesaver / unicorn / princess / genius and she would never say that about herself*. So yes, hiring some help can be such a great thing, but if you aren't ready for that, no worries! You can still find a lot of free marketing resources and courses on sites like Udemy, Hubspot, or head over to my Facebook group for more tips and tricks. 🙋🏼‍♀️

*Kaitlyn is my ride-or-die and you can't have her.

Where is your sorta-kinda-strategy at? Comment and lmk!

🎉 = FANTASTIC! I am killing it, frankly.

👍 = Ya know, I get by… it's pretty ok.

🙈 = Bit o' mess

🔥 = Straight dumpster fire here.

🆘 = Send. Help.

PS: Do you have a content strategy in place for your personal brand or business? If not, and you want to learn more about what that could look like... let's chat and see if we'd be a good fit to work together! I have a few content strategy spots for the remainder of 2022

PPS: Guess what? I’m building an online course, and I need your help with some market research! I’ll buy you a coffee for your time. Do you fit this description of who I'd like to talk to? Get in touch!
