Not that you asked, but Iām sharing anyway.Ā
Ā
Hereās how I typically spend my workday:
Ā
š 9am-ish
Fill up 2 tumblers:
Water w/ lots of ice š§š§š§Ā (I'll refill this one many times)
Cold brew mixed w/ a chocolate protein shake (typical weekday breakfast)
Light incense or candle of the day.
Chit-chat with Joey (& give SawyerĀ a cookie š¾šŖ).
Head to desk (or couch, if I'm laptopping it), put on headphones and choose playlist or podcast for the morning.
Clear out the digital weeds of a bazillion junk emails from cold-email prospectors who copy/paste the same stupid sh*t as the last bro.
Review my Project Management board in Trello (the collaborative workspace I share with my virtual assistant, Kaitlyn) to see what's up for today.
Also note of which things I'm blatantly ignoring, and promise myself I will get to them ALLĀ today š« .
Open ChatGPT (my other virtual assistant).
š 10am-ishĀ - 1pm-ish
Respond to most-pressing emails (project updates, scheduling podcast guest tapings, paying my overdue Loom subscription, etc š¬).
Voxer back and forth with Kaitlyn (usually work-related, but life-related veryyyyyy often as well).
Write, revise, and schedule my next email newsletter in Flodesk
Get distracted by completely random ADHD-fueled side-quest #1.
Hop into Canva to design some social graphics or video thumbnails.
Spend lots of time inside ChatGPT on things like:
Revising podcast episode show notes
Planning my calendar of upcoming workshops, promos, etc
Brainstorming the most sense-making order to do a thing
Get distracted by completely random ADHD-fueled side-quest #2.
š 1pm-ishĀ - 2pm-ish
Lunch? I try, but I'm way better about it when I set an alarm! ā°
Check email again (sigh, delete lots more junk, too⦠oh, you've generically āseen the great work I'm doing over at Alycia Yerves Creativeā and want to hop on a quick call so I can learn more about your new widget solution guaranteed to book me 18,000 warm leads fromĀ Forbes list folks in 30 seconds?Ā Kewwwwwwl. š)
Post on socials, slide into some DMs, laugh at relatable reels.
Be annoyed about some weird glitch or snafu with the latest Instagram app update; but feel relieved knowing that email marketing is a regular part of my comms strategy and I don't have to just rely on socials!
ADHD-fueled side-quests #'s 3-4-5ā¦
Give Sawyer another cookie(s). š¾šŖ
š 2pm-ishĀ - 5pm-ish
Come up with my next obviously brilliant idea (usually whilst on a bathroom break) for a new digital product / course / workshop / podcast ep / freebie / event / etc and (for 5 min anyway) want to stop EVERYTHINGĀ to launch it by tomorrow. š„“Ā
Check in with awesome clients like:
Sally, who is bursting with excitement as she grows her new bubble party business. We're collab'ing on some biz cards + branded graphics that express her personality, vibe, and fun biz! š«§
Spencer, who booked an Empower HourĀ to talk through some doable marketing + social media strategy plans for his new album so he can grow his fan base! šø
Katie, who is soon rolling out a brand new lead-magnet (and email opt-in + delivery sequence) we designed for her, all about debunking acupuncture myths so she can book more clients! š
Kris, who launched a proprietary new method for how her organization works with clients, and needed a visual āroadmapā designed to accompany it so folks can understand the journey! š£ļø
Jenn, who recently booked me for a VIP Voxer Month, to support & brainstorm with her while in the process of re-envisioning her multi-faceted planning/coaching business under a wider umbrella name that is more aligned with where she's at right now. š
Snack? Probably jalapeno kettle chips or gummy bears.
š 5pm-ishĀ - 6pm-ish
Wrap up for the day:
Check (and clear out) inbox one more time.
Send Kaitlyn a final update for the day on Trello (or Voxer).
Forward roughly 30-40 hilarious memes to the group chat w/ my brothers even though I know they will give me sh*t for blowing up their phone.
Put on a comfort show (like The Office) while
orderingĀ makingĀ dinner.
Side-quests and snafus aside, I truly loveĀ what I do. š
Ā
Because (nearly) every task ultimately ties back to helping heart-led solopreneurs create a biz that actually feels like the real you.
Ā
We take what makes you YOUĀ (quirks and all) and infuse it into essentials like your branding, website, and marketing so it attracts your dream clients. No cookie-cutter solutions. Not a big agency. Just me in your corner (with 15+ years of marketing & design experience in the theater/concert world), co-creating and cheering you on.
Thatās what lights me up.Ā Thanks so much for being a part of that.
Ā
xo,

PS: Did you notice āishā scattered throughout this email? I love the āishā. Big fan. The āishā allows me to keep moving with intention, but takes the pressure off a bit.Ā Sound good to you, too? Then I hope you'll join me inside The Foward-ish Club.
Ā
Slow is still a speed, my friend. Don't forget that! š
