In a normal year, I would be spending this week up to my waist in stamps and confetti in my living room putting together our annual holiday card project, with glitter inside my eyelids for weeks afterwards.
But this year, my team and I knew we could not proceed as usual with our tradition.
It didn’t feel right.Like so many other instances this year, we're making a pivot.
We've decided to reallocate our full budget on this project and donate it to Feeding America Instead
.
Their mission is to feed America’s hungry through a nationwide network of member food banks and engage our country in the fight to end hunger. This network is the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization, and secures and distributes 4.3 billion meals each year through food pantries and meal programs throughout the United States. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, 50 million people may face hunger in the U.S. during 2020 — including more than 17 million children. Hunger knows no boundaries — it touches every community in the U.S., including your own. My local food bank here in Monmouth County, NJ is Fulfill.

It is absolutely heartbreaking to see the endless lines at food pantries in our community and around the country. Many people facing hunger are forced to make tough choices between buying food and medical bills, food and rent and/or food and transportation.
We hope that you’ll consider joining us in donating to this incredibly important and worthy cause, if you can. Every little bit helps.

If you can’t donate at this time, we hope that you’ll share this fundraiser on Facebook to help us reach a larger audience. Or maybe you'll even consider reallocating your own holiday card budget to a cause you are passionate about. Charities need our help now more than ever. We love our annual holiday card living room workshop and hope you enjoyed receiving them, but our efforts needed to be focused elsewhere this year.
